An unforgettable evening with the Ensemble "Golden Thrace" Haskovo for the Bulgarians in Valencia
The dancers from "Zlatna Trakia" folk ensemble returned from a tour in Portugal and Spain. Their visit was at the invitation of the organizers of the International Folklore Festival in Kantanhede, in which dancers from 8 countries took part. The Haskovo contractors were the only representatives from Bulgaria.
"We performed 16 concerts in 12 days," Zlatka Timonova, the choreographer of "Golden Thrace", told Haskovo.info. "Our ensemble always ended the concerts as the best group with the most temperamental dances and everywhere we were presented as the magnetic dancers from Bulgaria", Timonova added.
During their tour, the Haskovo dancers took part in a culinary evening dedicated to Bulgaria. "We prepared Bulgarian specialties for the 100 guests from Kantanhede. Our menu included tarator, moussaka, crème-caramel and Bulgarian wine," explained Timononva.
During the dinner, the dancers from the ensemble also performed a solo concert, which ended with a wild Bulgarian dance, which the hosts from Portugal also joined in on.
"For our good performance, we received many gifts, certificates and plaques for our participation from all the concerts," announced the choreographer of "Zlatna Trakia".
The tour of the local dancers ended in the Spanish town of Engera, which is twinned with Haskovo. The ensemble visited there at the invitation of the Association of Bulgarians in Spain. "We were all very excited about this meeting, because we found out that out of 5,000 residents, 3,000 are Bulgarians, and 1,500 of them are from Haskovo and the region," explained Zlatka Timonova. "It was a really great concert, where the dancers didn't seem to be stepping, but flying," commented the Haskovо choreographer.
During the official lunch with the mayor of Engera, it became clear that a delegation from the Spanish town will visit Haskovo during the holidays of our town in September.
